Direct Trunk Select on Mitel 3300

Trunk Select - Direct

Description

Direct Trunk Select lets you access an outside trunk so that you can make and receive external calls. Because the trunk is assigned to a line appearance, you can access the trunk without the need for trunk access codes.
Calls completed via Direct Trunk Select bypass ARS; therefore, these calls are unaffected by toll control. Account Codes are also ineffective as a means of restricting access.

Conditions
• Direct Trunk Select lines can be Key System lines or Private lines, but they cannot be Multicall lines or Prime lines.
• Only central office (LS/GS) trunks, E&M trunks, loop/tie, CEPT, and DS1 trunks can be programmed in a Direct Trunk Select configuration. Incoming-only trunks are not compatible.
• Direct Trunk Select overrides Do Not Disturb and Call Forward.
• Direct Trunk Select trunks that are shared by a Key System group can be accessed by only one group member at a time (except in a Conference). Conference is permissible through the Privacy Release feature.

Programming

• Complete the Intercept Handling Assignment form.
• Complete the DTS Service Assignment form.
• Enter a trunk number, DTS service number, circuit descriptor number, and interconnect number into the Digital Trunk Assignment or Analog Trunk Assignment form.
• Program a Direct Trunk Select key In the Multiline Set Key Assignment form by completing the following fields:
• Directory Number: enter the trunk number preceded by a letter T.
• Line Type: enter either single line or key system.
